A collection of haikus that describe the Indian Monsoon.

01/10/2020

Playful frog quartet,

Under the halo crowned moon.

Fidgety owl hoots.

Dragonflies swarm low.

Swirling armies of dark march.

Fields of paddy sway.

Earthy scents arise.

Iridescent peacocks prance.

Thunder booms afar.

Here starts the sprinkle.

Mercurial beads quiver,

On glossed lily pads.

Drops of many notes.

Rooftop symphony of drums,

Mimic rushing steps.

Crowns splash from hard ground.

Rivulets rush paper boats.

Bubbles float. Dance. Pop.

Sweeping sheets of drops.

Unfazed buffaloes graze on.

Crackle of lightning.

Giggles and laughter.

Umbrella of leaves run by.

Splashing feet jump in.

Sparrows, in pools, bathe.

Shapes of rainbow on asphalt.

Bustling ants move nest.

Radiance parts gloom.

Twinning arches of color.

World is green again.
